JAZZ On The Side is written, produced, and hosted by R.
Austin
Bealmear
His
projects include a tuneable concert stage, one of the first
in the U.S., for the
St. Louis Symphony (1969), an $8 million library with one of
the first public computer labs in the U.S. (1970), and the
Humanities & Communications Center (video/audio
recording studios, radio station, interactive classrooms) at
Volunteer State Community College (2002). After
living and working in
New York,
Chicago,
Milwaukee,
St. Louis, Kansas
City, and
Eureka
Springs, AR, he moved
to Nashville
in 1978.
In the early 90's, he joined the board of directors of
Community Access Television and became a producer and staff
technician. In 1994, he created MediaMix, a multimedia
design company to offer comprehensive design services in
architecture, graphics, film, video, and theater. After
a few years of providing those services for the Nashville
Chamber Orchestra, he became their Marketing/Operations
Director and concert producer until 2000. He was then hired
as Executive Director of the Tennessee Jazz & Blues
Society, designed and edited their newsletter, web site, and
weekly email news bulletin, and produced their live concert
series. In October, 2003 he left TJBS to devote full time to
producing and marketing "JAZZ On The Side". |
